A very nice kit - will come in handy for badly oxidised/weathered headlights which are a step to far for the current kit.

The addition of a Headlight Protectant makes a lot of sense.

I will definitely be interested in the durability of headlight protectant.

Interesting packaging! Don't think I've seen any other Meg's products that primarily feature the modern logo on the box and lack the "script" logo....

For some processes we're thinking a "Heavy Duty" line might be a very good fit.

Sanding with 1000 grit and then 3000 grit can take off a lot of grungy, rough oxidation with very little effort. The included wool pad and PlastX remove the 3000 grit sanding marks with ease in just a matter of seconds.

We timed the process on some badly weathered headlights - from the time we fixed the 1000 grit abrasive disc to the hand pad until we did the final wipe off of PlastX a mere 10 minutes had passed.

This kit sounds great! Having an all inclusive kit for heavily fogged headlights makes a lot of sense.

Very interested in seeing the effectiveness of the Headlight Protectant.

Is the Headlight protectant available separately?

Initially, no, but we hope to make it available as a stand alone later on.

About the protectant - it's been tested extensively in the lab, of course, and it offers literally thousands of hours of UV protection. It's super easy to apply, almost like applying a pure polish. Once applied you can definitely feel an improved slickness on the surface of the lens.

Is the protectant beneficial even for headlights that have NOT been 'restored' using the rest of the components of the kit? Like on a brand new vehicle to prevent deterioration from happening in the first place, for example.... I'm assuming yes.

If so, that product could even make a good addition to the professional line to be marketed as an up-sell service for new vehicle customers at detail shops.

In theory, since it does offer very good UV protection, yes. We doubt a lot of people would use something like this regularly, however, so we aren't marketing it as such.

Now, from a detailer's services perspective it might work. We'll have to see when and if the protectant is sold individually.
