Are these 2 products replacing the current 16oz blue/white lotion versions of Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner??

While not initially developed to replace the existing "Aloe sisters" the market may end up dictating that.

The cleaner in this pair is pretty remarkable, actually. When we were doing some demos and testing we taped off half a seat and cleaned it. It didn't really look all that dirty before we started, but the stuff that came up on the towel was shocking and the half of the seat (tan leather) that we cleaned was suddenly much lighter and brighter in color. Surprise!!

Could the cleaner be used on Pleather?

What would I follow cleaning up with?

        thanks

You should be fine since this is a leather and vinyl cleaner. You can follow up with either a leather or vinyl dressing, just be sure not to overuse any dressing and wipe off the excess after a few minutes of absorption/dry time.

Being a leather and vinyl cleaner will be a big plus.

I've been using the regular detailer line white leather cleaner and conditioner, was going to try the sisters, but should I go with the new combo instead?

Does these products give off a leather scent?

Re: Gold Class Leather/Vinyl Cleaner & Gold Class Leather Conditioner

I know nothing about formulas or chemicals but I have to question a product that claims to clean both leather and vinyl as if they were the same thing. I would think that these are two different types of material that would require two different products.

I'll leave the above statement but I think I understand now. Leather and vinyl both need cleaning. Hence, the cleaner does both products. But the conditioner, which is only required by leather, is just for leather... not the vinyl as well. If this is correct, I think some of the prior posts were a little confusing. As I stated in the first paragraph, I'd think protecting leather and vinyl would best be done by two different products as vinyl won't benefit from conditioners.

                  Just my 2 cents.

Do they leave a shine? I prefer no shine, like the one left with the Gold Class LC&C that came from using the pearl white product from the black bottle. What kind of finish comes from these?

I used the detailer line of leather cleaner and conditioner, and it was too shiny for my tastes.

You'll notice the cleaner is labeled as being for both leather and vinyl while the conditioner just states leather. The cleaning ability of the cleaner is pretty amazing and it is formulated to be safe on leather, but it still does an outstanding job on vinyl surfaces. You are right in thinking that automotive leather requires a different conditioning product than regular vinyl does, even though most automotive leather has a protective coating on it. But it's the coating that really calls for the more specialized conditioners because it is a very unique type of coating - it is designed to mimic leather in both its ability to stretch and absorb product. It's not a completely impermeable layer that nothing can get through. That said, a somewhat specialized leather conditioner is perfectly fine to use on plastic and vinyl, but it might be a bit overkill.

The conditioner in this pair is very, very low sheen but here's a tip you can use with any leather conditioner or even vinyl and plastic conditioners and tire dressings: after initial application come back after a few minutes with a clean, dry microfiber or terry towel and lightly buff the finish - this will remove any excess from the surface and knock down any shine that might have been present following the initial application.

                        Thank you Mike-

I usually apply the GC product with a microfiber pad, work in, then wipe with a microfiber for the excess, no sheen- so that sounds like I'm doing it correctly...

So the Aloe sisters conditioner will do the same thing? I can't find the black bottle GCLCC anymore, and the gel is all out of stock it seems.

                        TIA!

You say you want no sheen and then you use Sheen as you avatar. You are a human dicotomy

Is a toothbrush safe to use to scrub on leather with this product? How do you "scrub" out the dirt?

                            Thanks!

You can use a toothbrush, but it might take you a while to do the whole seat.
I have a couple of soft brushes that are sold as cat brushes that I picked up from Petco that work very well for cleaning leather seats. The soft bristles get into the pores and creases of the leather quite well. I then follow up with a microfiber to remove any leftover residue and grime.
