The gel should be fine for use this way, as should the trigger spray. The aerosol we would strongly urge you to NOT use on trim as there is a chance it could cause some problems due to the difference in formulation. Basically, it's the stuff that makes it an aerosol that may not play well with trim. The odds are slim, but we'd still caution against it. Using the gel or trigger spray on wheel wells may not be the most economical way to go, but that's a decision for you to make for yourself.

How does this compare to the Detailer line of dressings?

Just curious since last fall I picked up ASD, Silicone-Free & Hyper........
The answer can get pretty complex here, especially since there are vast differences between the Detailer line products you mention!! ASD is a solvent based dressing, Hyper is water based with variable dilution ratios, and Silicone-Free is, well, free of silicone so it's great in a body shop environment. With the Endurance line the aerosol would be most similar to ASD since they're both solvent based and the trigger would be most similar to Hyper, but with a major difference - Endurance trigger spray has a polymer load similar to Ultimate Protectant so it will hold up better in the rain than a more basic water based dressing like Hyper.

I was really expecting like clear with a purple tint.
As noted above, the aerosol is solvent based (it basically has to be since water based products don't usually deliver well in true aerosol format) but the trigger spray is indeed water based. But it's water based with a strong polymer load, like Ultimate Protectant, so as noted above it will hold up against rain better than your typical water based dressing will. Of course, proper cleaning and prepping of the sidewall is important here.

I used it on 3 separate vehicles last week and the tires looked great until it rained 2 days afterwards and the shine was completely gone. Not too happy about that... NXT Insane shine held up better for me.
Which spray, aerosol or trigger? The trigger is water based with polymers, as noted above. But if the tires are not well cleaned before application then the polymers may not be able to fully bond, and the product will then behave more like a traditional water based dressing.

The gel is virtually unchanged. Silicone in and of itself is not a problem whatsoever with tire dressings.

And do also remember that any tyre gel / restorer will react on different wheel fabricants since different rubber mixtures are used.
One important note is also that you need to clean the tyre and DRY it before applying any gel, spray etc.

        Re: Endurance Tire Dressings

After trying both the aerosol and trigger spray "Endurance" products...I can say with all certainty...

        Save your money.

Go buy All Season Dressing if you like the Aerosol and HyperDressing if you like the trigger spray. Put them in a pump sprayer and call it a day.

I don't see that the trigger spray lasts significantly longer. It may have some added polymers in it; but meh. Not enough to warrant the price over HD (plus HD has a lot of other uses).

As a long time Meg's customer and a HUGE fan of the old pre-VOC HotShine aerosol (which to me was the aerosol equivalent of the Endurance gel)...I can say that the new Endurance Aerosol and Triggers are a huge disappointment.

The aerosol discharges about twice the necessary amount, spattering way too much product on the tire. I always buff my tires after applying any dressing; but even after buffing this product down and letting it dry, it still managed to sling.

          Re: Endurance Tire Dressings

Bought the trigger version at Wal-Mart. Tried it on the Tahoe. Do not like at all. Very thick and hard to work with. The grape smell is way to strong.

I'll be sticking with Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating. Goes on very easy and is not thick, nor does it smell really strong.

            Re: Endurance Tire Dressings

I picked up a bottle of the Endurance tire spray yesterday and I was quite curious to see what level of gloss it would produce since I had suspected it to be a water based dressing.

Here are my impressions I would have to compare it to "Black magic" Titanium series "Matte finish tire dressing" the funny thing with that matte tire dressing is that when first applied it actually produces a nice semi gloss sheen for the first week.

Now for the Endurance Spray: I honestly don't think that it should be called endurance because it does not give the type of shine that I have come to expect from using endurance gel for over a decade plus. The result a rather disappointing in that regard. However that good news is that it does give me that matte look that I want for my car with no sling at all and I will continue to use the gel on all the other cars in my family.

i agree, the shine isnt the same, i like a high shine tire dressing and the trigger version i wish produced a higher shine, but it does last through rains at least for me it did, i just love the fact that there is no sling and no runs on the tire that is why i will use this product every time unless the make the hot shine formula tire shine that will dry on the tire.

                Re: Endurance Tire Dressings

I tried this product and have an issue with 1 of my tires. The other 3 are fine with a nice shine but 1 of my tires looks like the rubber is melting/rubber off. I haven't had a chance to clean the tire and see if the actual rubber is rubbing off or if it's the product that is rubbing off black.

I looked again and it actually looks like there are specks/dots instead of a smooth shine.

I haven't tried the tigger version just yet, but I can't see it being bad.

Any interest in producing it in gallons?

Here is a pic I took. Instead of a smooth shine where the lines are, there are specs and grit.

Just looks like dirt to me.
I would start again by thoroughly cleaning the tire first with APC or equivalent, then re-applying the dressing.

Looks like a build-up of dirt and previous dressings.

I'd use something stronger to remove the build-up, like a dedicated wheel cleaner.

I'm concerned about this tire spray. I understand that overspray is to be wiped off. The reason for needing to clear the overspray should be to avoid unslightly results, not to avoid damage to the wheel.

I've found the overspray to be tough to remove and I am concerned it may damage the wheel finish if left in place. The residue that remains doesn't come off easily - I have found ammonia to be the best solvent.

I'm going back to Hot Shine.

Always been a big fan of the Endurance tire shine. I picked up the spray bottle, figured it might be a little easier for me then the gel.

I havn't played with layering it up to see how high gloss of a shine you can get out of it. I did put it on kind of heavy and it still came out matte. Which is fine with me, looks great on the truck.

The only problem I am having is the spray bottle doesn't seem to work all that well. I have to shake it between sprays to get a good amount to come out of the bottle. I keep all of my products in doors, so the only time they are exposed to the heat or cold is when I am actually applying them.

I am probably going to try just pouring the product out of the container onto a pad until I use it all up. Then I am going to switch back to the gel.
