  • Re: Ultimate Polish

Ultimate Polish on a foam finishing pad should be safe for use on a clear bra - we've known people to use M205 and even PlastX this way with great results. Just always keep in mind that most clear protective film makers bluntly state not to use any abrasive product on the material, and all three of those are, technically, abrasive products.

That really means this: Meguiar's does not recommend these products for use on clear protective film (no matter the anecdotal evidence we've seen from some users) so any such use is done at your own risk.

I just got this too! I noticed there's a little bit more product (16oz) compare to UC and SwirlX, which had 15.2oz. Can't wait to try it out with my G110v2, and comparison with M205.

Of course! But, I would recommend giving Ultimate Wax a shot.

I want to make sure I understand the placement of this product. Ultimate Polish could be used in place of the old Deep Crystal Polish, correct? And Swirl-X/Ultimate Compound will still be the first step for paint correction (After clay bar of course)?

I think swirlX is a bit close to the Ultimate polish in terms of aggressiveness. I would think that the Clay/Ultimate compound/Ultimate polish/Ultimate wax is the way to go in terms of progression and correction.

I did a comparison of Swirlx, M205 and UP in my review. Check it out to see the differences in each.

does this product need to be wiped off with a QD or IPA before applying NXT 2.0?

This is just my opinion, others may wish to correct me. By the time you get to Ultimate Polish your corrective work, for the most part, should be complete and there is no need to expose defects by using IPA wipe down.

Ultimate Polish is the crowning glory, protect it with a nice coat of your wax or sealant of preference.

If your using UltPolish for it's mildly abrasive qualities, they you may wish to do an IPA looking for last by now small defects and either correct again or another run of UltPolish with a softer pad and slower speeds for polishing.

                        I love the stuff.

UP corrects but is also a glaze. It has polishing oils that darken the paint. I think IPA would remove them and reduce its benefit.

That's my assessment of Ultimate polish as well.
