My intent was not to avoid mentioning 85RD, in fact I thought the reference was implied since I directly answered your question regarding the slickness of feel versus the almost tacky feel you get with a pure polish, which is what Ultimate Polish feels like. Further, the statement about UP being a consumer product as opposed to a pro line product.

Whether it's going to finish out nicer than M205 may well be paint, tool and operator dependant. We don't necessarily directly compare consumer and pro products to determine which is "better" for all situations.

Are you finishing 85RD with a rotary? If so, that alone should take UP out of the picture since, being a consumer product, it's not recommended for rotary use. Now keep in mind "not recommended" does not mean it's impossible to use that way. But since it was not developed with that application process in mind your results may vary widely. But we certainly did not develop a consumer product with our sights firmly set on any specific product.

You mentioned that Ultimate Polish has a lot of polishing oils in it. Does that include fillers?

A polish with some cleaning agents. This is sweet.

Yes, it does have the ability to fill, much as any pure polish does. But with the inclusion of SMAT abrasives it's not merely a filling product.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like products that fill and remove. I am not a perfect detailer obviously so if I can make my car look swirl free without bringing out the DA then I'll do it. That's why I really like Mother's Sealer and Glaze as it fills in the light swirls really well.

Does it have more polishing oils in it than 205? You gave me the impression on the phone once that 205 may not have many polishing oils, despite its undeniable depth.

Quite a bit more, and that becomes quite evident after wipe off as the finish feels much like it would following an application of M07 or M81. Crazy thing is though, that wipe off is nothing like those two - it's more like M205, if not a bit easier even.

Hmmm, now you've got me interested. And where does it fall on the cut scale?

This looks like an awesome product - well done Megs!

Not sure I need any, as I have M205 as well as various pure polishes, but I'm looking forward to reading some reviews.

The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. If using this with a DA, what kind of pad should you use? Polishing, finishing, etc.?
