Alright, so no one read my comment because I was quite a bit off base. If a mod wants to actually remove that comment then they can.

Thanks for that Mike! Always cool to know exactly what's going on.

To me the threads gone a bit ott.

At the end of the day a coat of wax is nothing more than a sacrifiscial layer. If you get 4-6 months from a coating of wax your doing very well. If you want something more permenant you need to look at products with nano technology such as those from Nanolex and G-tecnic. With those your looking at about a year.

For an even more permenant solution you need to know how to re apply clear coat.

My view is that wax is cheap, if it goes off after a month I'll reapply.

My view on this product is that it appears to behave very similarly (from what I've read) to the old 3M Show Car Paste Wax. I wander if UW contains ******?

You really weren't that far off, Shawn, with exception of the part about leaving a thin film of polishing oils on the surface. Wed rather leave you comments as it does show some logical thinking and we are big fans of that.

Your comments about wax being a relatively short live sacrificial barrier are dead on, and it seems a lot of people sort of lose sight of that. But you don't need to look to nano tech for something longer lasting. The Deep Crystal Coating we just introduced for the Asian market can withstand severe acid rain and last much, much longer than traditional waxes could ever dream of.

But this product is vastly different than 3M Show Car Paste Wax - it has a very heavy hydrophobic polymer load, goes on incredibly thin (even on a very warm surface in direct sunlight) and won't stain trim. But contains no t-e-f-l-o-n; none of our products ever have and most likely never will.

                Hi MOL!

I think I have read all the responses and didn't see this but I apologize if I missed it.

What is the scent of this new product? (I like to dab some behind my ears when I'm done waxing )

I appreciate what you say about Deep Crystal Coating. I thought it was your version of a nano-tech product? Even so Nano tech coatings do offer about the best durability you can get from an LSP.

As an example the G-tecnic G2 glass coating I use on my windows and windscreen officially last up to 2yrs. On the wifes car it's already exceeded that and it will be another 3 months at least before it gets re-applied.

It is a shame that DCC won't be released to the euro/USA markets as when it does, it'll have more of a problem getting market share as companies such as Nanolex and G-tecnic get a greater foothold.

Either way this wax is an interesting prospect. If you can get 4-6 months from it, I can't why durability would be in question. If people are worried about bonding or oils then a simple IPA wipe down or, if a bit more is required, a paint cleanser (I use Autoglym HD Cleanser) should only be needed.

Has the scent been decided yet? If not I want to put in my votes:
                    1. No coconut scent
                    2. No turpentine scent (with all due respect, Wolfgang DGPS already uses that one)
                    3. If it smells as nice as NXT 2.0 I will probably never use another LSP.

Yes, the scent has long since been decided, but.....

                      1. nope, no coconut
                      2. uh, definitely NO!
                      3. as nice? well, different, but as nice is going to be a personal thing.

Should be available by late January/early February depending on where you live and what stores will be carrying our new products in your area.

Mike, specific to NXT 2.0 and Ultimate Wax together, which one would be best to apply over the other. I plan to get Ultimate Wax when available, but don't want to throw out whatever amount of NXT 2.0 is left, instead of two coats of NXT 2.0, I'll use one as a topper...whichever will work best that way. Does Ultimate Wax have the same "cure" time as NXT 2.0 before applying a second coat?
                            Thanks.

Hmmm.... NXT and UW together; seems like a bit of an odd combo but we do understand your desirre to not just throw away the NXT you still have.

With the polymer load of UW it's probably going to be best to apply it first, let it dry, wipe off and then apply a coat of NXT the next day.

Overall cure time for UW is probably a bit longer than that of NXT.

So excited about this wax. Been using GCCW but want to also try out a paint sealant. Should I start with NXT or go straight to Ultimate wax?
