Dry time is similar to that of NXT, maybe a bit less. It can still appear to be a bit wet but it will wipe off with ease even then. The polymer load is such that the swipe test may not be 100% accurate here - give it a good 20 minutes or so before wipe off.

Here's a little tip at wipe off: if you find any visual unevenness after wiping it off (slightly darker patches due to inconsistencies in thickness of application) then very light spray some plain water onto a clean, dry microfiber towel and wipe the car down as a quick follow up. And by "very lightly spray" we mean exactly that. In fact, spraying a mist in the air and catching it with the towel is sufficient. Definitely don't over do it here. What happens is the polymers are still quite dynamic on the surface immediately after wipe off, and it they aren't pretty evenly distributed you may see some slightly darker patches because of it. That very lightly damp microfiber helps to shift things around, evening out the layer.

We hesitate to even mention this but we know some of you MOL folks are extremely particular about how things perform and you tend to notice very minute details. As you might imagine, if the above does happen it's going to be most noticeable on darker non metallic colors and under certain lighting or viewing angles. But the polymers are easily spread and the final result is fantastic!

Personally speaking, I'd say it's still more of the sealant wet glass look, but the darkening prevents that from being the sort of shine that has been (not kindly) described as "wrapped in Saran Wrap" plastic-y.
so if you apply it heavier in some areas then others those parts will be darker then the other areas and how well does this work with UQD?

I can't wait to try Ultimate Wax !!! It's time to polish and wax both my wife's and my car. I don't think I can wait until 2011. I'll do the #205 and NXT 2.0 As soon as Ultimate Wax is for sale I will try it out.

In the event you do experience this, plain water is really all that's needed.

                No way! That's awesome.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                Remove swirls my friends.

                    Re: Ultimate Wax

I'll try to finish all my nxt 2.0's by dec. 31, 2010.. And get this one! That said, NXT 2.0 is a good wax. I'd like to get the entire "ultimate" pack.. Ultimate Compound, Ultimate polish, Ultimate Wax, Ultimate Detailer, Ultimate quik wax. And maybe, just maybe, throw in deep crystal carnauba wax as a Last-Last step product. Or just to complicate things..

i have a silver car, so i probably wont notice it happening because it is a light colored car right, and does this product work with UQD?

                                Re: Ultimate Wax

I'm intrigued by quite a few of the new product, this being one of them, but I just have SOOOOOOOO many LSPs in my current arsenal, I may have to swing a trade with one of you fine chaps when Ultimate Wax comes out.

I think I wrote recently in another thread that my biggest beef with NXT 2.0 was staining and I love that Megs fixed that problem. Yes, I am MESSY with my application of LSPs because I generally use my G110 and a 9006 pad but I can't stay within the lines, so this will certainly be worth a look.

I think I'd like to do a head to head to head with Ultimate Wax, BFWD and Z2Pro.
