  • Question About Ultimate Wash & Wax And Ultimate Quick Wax.

Can either one of them replace each other on a weekly maintenance regime?

I wanna cut down on the time spent on my weekly maintenance session, would it be a wise choice to use UWW and follow by a UQD, or a wash with NXT shampoo, follow by a UQW and then a UQD? Would a UQD be useful in this case?

Re: Question About Ultimate Wash & Wax And Ultimate Quick Wax.

    Here is what I do.

If I am paint correcting, I use Gold Class, IMO its a waste of the Wash & Wax.

If I am maintaining with regular washes I use Wash & Wax, followed by Ult. Quick Wax.

I only use UQD when the car is garaged and dust or contamination settled on it while it was parked. Any more contamination, you run the risk of swirling the car.

UQD shares same/similar properties that UQW, NXT 2.0, and Wash/Wax as it has that "Hydrophobic Technology" which is KILLER in my opinion. My car just blast water off as I drive. Always uniform, always consistant.

Think of UQD as for maintaining a garaged car. OR those who do to car shows and need to get some of the road contaminations off, or even pollen (Spring time in the US uggggh). If your washing, just go right to the UQW for a follow up.

** On a side note, I just washed my 2002 Trans Am Last night before it goes to the storage unit with Ult Wash/Wax and you can tell how the water sheets off nicely, but does not have that smooth feel, like wax. Well UQW fixes that problem immediately, all my cars have that smooth feel and to me that makes all the difference.

Hi "BSM"..thanks for replying promptly on all myquestion..

However, if I use the UQW on a weekly basis, will there have any effects of the "diminishing returns"?

If you're looking for the best protection in a very easy process that you can do regularly, UQW wins out over UWW by a huge margin. Regular use of UQW, like after washing every week, can do wonders for keeping the shine up, keeping the water beading (great durable hydrophobic polymers) and even help hide some of the finer defects.

While neither UQW or UWW is a substitute for a proper wax job, UQW comes close when used regularly.

What I will say I love UWW just for the simple fact it sheds water and it takes less effort to either water blade the car and then finish up using a water magnet. Even if I stuck right to using just water magnets, what took 3 now take 1 and what I would call a half.

Also to mention since Windows are washed with UWW then the water shedding abilities transfer over and during rainy days it blast water off like a quasy Rain-X treatment.

Yeah, I think of it like

Gold Class, Nxt, etc + UQW

              or:

              UW&W

The UQW will be better, the UW&W faster. Whichever you feel like.

Does UWW cause the wiper to judder in this case?

Ya, i will be using it as a weekly maintenance tool instead, but is there any side effects of having too much of the UQW on a weekly basis? eg; diminishing returns?

With that schedule I believe you would be using UQW for exactly what it was designed for. Diminishing returns? I don't think so considering the less time involved vs. a real wax. You could try using it once every two weeks and see how well that works if you find yourself still spending a lot of time on your weekly session.

Look at it this way: However you do it, you will most likely see your initial coating of actual wax/sealant last longer and look better over it's lifetime as you are giving it a boost every week or two.

I think waxing the windshield, or UQW/OQDing it, or RainXing it varies by car/glass/blades. For some people it may smear/shudder, etc, some it may not.

I dont get shuddering, but do get a little smear at times when UQD/UQW is first applied.
