Correct major paint defect on black paint with NO BUFFER!
Re: Correct major paint defect on black paint with NO BUFFER!
I've gotten results like that with the new 105/205 combo by hand, takes a good amount of effort but the new SMAT is so good that the amount of effort is way less then the compounds with dimishing abrasives

One more thing I'll add, I've gotten excellent results using the velcro hand pad with 4 inch pads. Here's a recent post I made that features my car that was finished off with 205 by hand. In my experience when you finish off by hand with 205 or swirl x you get the best of both worlds- the extreme gloss of a rotary and no trails whatsoever like the DA does...
Ask 'ol Mike Stoops about a little black car we had to hand rub in about 15 minutes using M105....
Ah, good times!! We're coming up on the 3 year anniversary of that wonderful day in the Las Vegas sun, prepping a bunch of exotics for a car "fashion show". We had to get this one especially right since Barry Meguiar himself was going to be driving it up on stage in a few hours!
That's Kevin putting the finishing touches on the glass.
But back on topic here and the answer to the question about how Joe got that level of correction without a buffer.
The answer?
Pure talent.
