  • New here with a quick question

I couldnt find the answer to my question by searching but heres my situation. two weeks ago, i washed, clayed, and waxed my black car..well it was my idiot self first time claying and waxing. I should have been patient and read more but i was rushing because it was getting dark and i couldnt see. While i was waxing the car i would do 2x2 spots..and wipe it off right after..now im looking at videos and that must be the stupidest thing to do since you are suppose to wait to let it dry . So my question is..because i did that..is it okay for me to wax it again real soon and in the correct way or do I need to wait? I read somewhere that you are suppose to wax your car every 2-3 months.

    thanks

Not only is it OK to correctly rewax the car right away, but we'd recommend it. Just wash and dry it and then apply a properly thin coat to all the painted surfaces, wait about 30 minutes, and wipe off. You'll be just fine, and if this is the worst mistake you make along the way, you're ahead of the game!!

The 2-3 months is to try and keep wax on the car, not because you would be using it to often or anything.

Just go ahead and wash, wax your car. By applying the wax and immediately removing it. You really did not wax it.

Re: New here with a quick question

I had the same problem the other night. I had to do a customers black BMW out in his driveway the other night and he has no street lights on his street and was only working with my work lamps I have on a stand. It was a pain because I was also waxing and removing light swirls. The car was black plus it was dark as it could be, not a good combination! Anyways, like said before, Wax your entire car, let it set for like 15 minutes and buff off. I use to do the same thing as you, apply wax, buff it right off, and wonder why the water didnt bead up like it should have when it rained!
