Ah yes, crazy soft paint! So easy to correct, but even easier to make worse if you use the wrong approach. Looking forward to the full write up!

Tim, it looks like Meg's new D/A Microfiber System would be a good tool for your project.
Probably just Finishing Wax would do the trick on Toyota's soft paint.

          Couple more months.

Dang! I saw 200 series Land Cruiser and was hoping it was one of the older ones, only to find out its the latest body style.

Re: Detailed: Toyota LandCruiser 200series - Solid Black with soft clear -

Thank you everyone for the very kind words. Truly packed with back to back work - each requires full detail inside and outside. Its now 11pm and I'm just flat out exhausted.

Going back to the Land Cruiser - Majority of the paint had been repainted and yes, its soft. Very soft and the paint is sticky and absorbs any kind of polish being applied on. So a tweak in polishing technique was required.

Synopsis of products and tools used in the detail.

Meguiars APC, Shampoo Plus, SuperDegreaser, APC+, Sonax Full Effect, Glass Cleaner Concentrate, ONR, Blue Clay, Supreme Shine MF, Water Magnet & etc for cleaning step.

                Polishing - Meguiars G220, M105, M205, Megs Polishing Pad and Finishing Pad (7", 6.5", 4") .

No IPA - hazes the paint even diluting to 70/30.

LSP: Glass coated for maximum resistance from the elements - applied to the entire car including wheels, lights, windows.

Leather interior were cleaned using leather cleaner and sealed with Meguairs Quik Interior Detailer for a matte and silky smooth feel.

Wheel wells, engine compartment treated with Meguiars HyperDressing and wheels with Endurance Tire Gel.

Anyhow, here's some of the pictures depicting the whole process. Took me 3 days to process the whole vehicle (yes, I'm slow).

Interior - Leather Seats Before - dirt from daily use

Residue were all over the seals/seams/gaps.

Wow, nice job. So basically you used M205 to correct whole vehicle?

for cars with soft paints straight from teh factory, what do you recommend your customers do? is it inevitable they need to get their cars cut evey year or 2 to maintain that swirl free rids free look?

Thank you. Yes basically M205 to correct the defects. PO87MC, Ultrafina or other similar product(s) would be used to further jewel the car.

Its all in the maintenance program. Washing it with good technique and good products like Meguiars would be required. Soft clear especially Black needs more care compared to others.
