  • Designing a cabinet for my Meguiar's product.

I am going to build a cabinet for my garage to store my detailing products and equipment.

I am looking for good examples of a well organized cabinet.

This is a cabinet I picked up from Sears Online a few years ago when it was on sale for $279. I see it's now on sale for $263.99.

For anyone interested, free shipping if you pick it up at the store. I suggest a full size bed and two people, it's a monster box for one guy to handle!

The thing I liked about it vs other cabinets I looked at is the shelves inside the doors for smaller items. The holes in the sides turned out to be a bonus for use with pegboard hooks.

I've since started using velcro tabs on the underside of the shelves and side walls to stash pads without taking up shelf space. Works nice on the outside of the cabinet for odds n ends too.

Outgrew it pretty fast, think I'll pick up another before the price goes back up.

I have two storage areas side by side in my garage.

One is a standard office cabinet with adjustable metal shelves, which I use to store my pressure washer, crates of MF cloths and applicators, and the smaller bottles of products.

Next to the metal cabinet is a wooden bookshelf cum wine rack which I salvaged and reconfigured to house my larger containers of products, spray bottles and other odds and ends

              Hey Woodie:

How is that portable vacuum you've got there? I see them very cheap online, but there's little in the way of specs. So how is it?

Although fairly powerful for a small, 12V powered unit, it's definitely not suitable for full interior cleaning. I keep it around for mid week tidy ups and those random occasions when I quickly need to sort out light dirt and I don't feel like hauling out the big electric vacuum.

Mid week tidy ups sounds like a perfect use scenario for such a thing, think I'll get one. Thanks and I apologize for threadjacking

                      Marine Toys:

Do you have a flickr account perhaps? (flickr.com) makes it very easy to upload all of your pics so you can have a "permanent" online home. I personally upload all of mine to my flickr account and then when viewing any picture, there's a menu called "Share" - it will generate BBCode which you can paste right here, which is convenient and keeps me from having to upload pics multiple places

                      Regards
