  • March 12, 2011 at Amelia Island - Meguiar's Concours Prep with Tim McNair

    When: Saturday March 12th - 2pm - 3:30pm

Where: Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida - Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance Weekend

Meguiar's is pleased to announce a very special seminar, Meguiar's Concours Prep with Tim McNair, will take place during the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance on March 12, 2011.

Tim McNair, of Grand Prix Concours Preparation, will cover the following topics:

    - Meguiar's 5 Steps of Paint Care
    - The Best of Show Difference
    - Tips and Tricks from Tim

Tim has been passionate about cars since he was a young boy. Having received a gift subscription to Road & Track magazine at age 10, Tim would dream of working on the European sports cars that were featured.

These dreams were realized when he was recruited by a car accessories shop in the 1980's. This introduced him to the world of detailing high-end cars. Since then, Tim has worked in every facet of the car business, including everything from restoring Mercedes 300SL's to selling MINI's, although the road always lead back to concours preparation.

His work is regularly displayed at Pebble Beach, Villa D'Este, Amelia Island, The Quail and many national marque specific concours. He has prepared a number of cars at the Simeone Foundation Museum in Philadelphia. Many of the cars have been photographed for magazines including Forza, Excellence, Automobile, The Rodder's Journal and most recently a feature article in Classic Motorsport. McNair formed Grand Prix Concours Preparation in 2006. Using only the finest products and the most modern techniques, Grand Prix Concours Prepared vehicles have won awards all over the globe

I have several cars competing at this year's event. I don't know my schedule but should by today. Will go if I can go (does that make sense ;-) )
Let's make all of the cars shiny!

I wouldn't miss this for the world- need some tips and tricks to keep the old Porsche detailed. Is there a particular polish that works best on rusty, pitted, and structurally unsound metal?

You don't need a metal polish for that.... what you need is something called "hope and a prayer".

                      Or a good fabricator.
