  • What to do about stripes

Hey guys, got a 2004 Mach 1 Mustang that came from the factory with a large flat black hood stripe and flat black lower rocker moulding stripes. Plan is to wash, clay, ultimate compound, polish/sealer and wax. What can I do/not do to the stripes? Thanks for all the help.

    What you can do:

    Wash
    Quik Detail
    Ultimate Quik Detail
    Glass Cleaner

    What you should never do:

    Ultimate Compound
    Paint Cleaners
    Wax/Sealant
Ultimate Quik Wax (although this one is borderline - depends a bit on the actual finish of the vinyl; if there is the slightest gloss then it should be fine as this works better of matte vinyl than matte paint)

Claying shouldn't cause any problems either, just go lightly and use plenty of lube.

What do you do about the stripes that hide swirls?
