If the Cutting disc and D300 left some marring, the Ult Wax and finishing pad may not remove it. At that point, a cleaner/polish would be needed before the wax, at least if going for perfect results.
Planing to detail mostly personal, friends and family cars that are daily drivers.

Also isn't "perfect" depend on the person looking at it? I think most people will not notice the micro marring....I maybe wrong.

I am sure most people wouldnt notice...

My car being a daily driver, outside a lot, I have to say too bad for some things, even though I see them.

But thats the only concern... if you really wanted perfect, and didnt have the 301 (or another cleaner/wax), you'll have made it a 3 step process instead of 2 step, to remove the marring and wax. Nothing right or wrong about it, just what options you have with the products on hand.

Glad I checked the site this morning. I just washed my silver 323ci yesterday, and determined that it needed a little more than just #21, but not the full DA approach. I was lying in bed last night trying to decide between 151 and 301 (a true sign of Car Crazy, I'm sure) Looks like it will be the 151 for that extra cleaning. Maybe the next time my black 9-5 needs polishing I'll do a comparo on it.

    Thanks for the great write-up.
