Clay again after Ultimate Compound?

I am working on my wife's 2008 red Pontiac Solstice. The hood and trunk felt so gritty before claying. When I started claying, the clay was picking up so much grit and dirt, I had to use a second clay to finish this little car. I clayed hood and truck lid twice. Last night I also used Ultimate Compound on hood and I am doing trunk today. Hood and truck lid still feel a little gritty. Should I clay them again when finished with UC? Side of car feels nice and smooth so that is not an issue, just hood and trunk.

I plan on using Deep Crystal Polish followed by two coats of Ultimate Liquid Wax.
