  • what should i do with a peeling clear coat?

    Hi all,

    I need some advice.
My manager is going to sell his car.
I am planning to polish it for him

He will paid me a little so that I can buy some new stuff for 2011
He keep saying it never seen winter in the past three years that he owns it.
It is a 1998 Alfa Spider 2.0 NOVITEC.

However, there is a spot (like a can of soda pop) of clear is peeling...
    what should I do?
    What can I do?
What do I have to watch out?

Input will be great and then it is time to get

Thanks for all your advice in advance

    WBR,
    Steve

If the CC is peeling there isn't really much you can do unless it is repainted. As far as how careful to be around it it really depends how bad it is. Many times you can just polish over it but if it is already starting to "flake off I would probably just polish around it to avoid having more flake off. Talk to your manager and let him know what can possibly happen if you polish over it. Have him give you the Nay ir Yay. If he said he's fine and gives you the go ahead then proceed and just pay attention to how the affected area is reacting to your polishing. I am assuming you'll be using a dual action polisher.
