  • M26 paste wax hard and grainy like rock

    Dear all,

I have 2 cans of M26 paste wax. 1 of the 2 cans that I have doesnt feel right... It is hard like a piece of rock, and the surface is grainy. The grainy stuff doesnt go away as I spin the included yellow foam applicator against the surface of wax. Application is not as easy as other M26 paste wax I have, due to near impossible to liquidfy the wax and transfer some onto the foam pad as I spin it...

Has my M26 paste wax turned bad?
Here are 2 photos of how my paste wax looks like:

In addition to previous post - under the fingers it seems like very fine sand - normal or not?

Thank you for making us aware of this issue. No this is not normal. It is tough to diagnose the extent of the problem without having the product in our hands so unfortunately we would have to recommend you do not use it on your vehicle. If you would be so kind as to provide the batch code that would be helpful for our investigation. Thank you again and sorry for the bad experience.

            Thank you.
So I do not have cardboard so there are all numbers I can find on lid and tin.

            3020347 - number on lid
3010340 - number on bottom of the tin
            0 70382 12611 7 - bar code number

The batch code should be on the can and would start with a letter followed by several numbers. You may need to be in good lighting as they can be tough to see some times.

Re: M26 paste wax hard and grainy like rock

So I ordered new can of M26 from abroad (United Kingdom) batch #H5181PC and from first sight everything looks well - very nice and smooth surface, nothing like from the first post and my "bad" C5161PC tin bought here in Croatia month or so ago.
But upon rubbing my aplicator over the smooth surface, below is same situation - grainy wax which can be felt under fingers like very fine sand.
So, Meguiars what is going on with these #26 waxes?
Is this just Carnauba recristalysation which is not uncommon when some solvent evaporate or these waxes contain some silica abrassives as my distributor told for bad #26 wax which in my oppinion does not have any sense but if they told something like that obviously there is a reason for such.

                    Thx
