  • M1611 Professional Paste Wax

    Good morning everyone,

As most of you already know, #16 Professional Paste Wax was on the list casualties of recently being discontinued. I bring the sad news that all of our onhand quantity has been depleted and the product is no longer available for purchase. If you were one of lucky few who purchased some after the news that is was being discontinued, be sure to store it properly. A room temperature environment (i.e. indoor cupboards) is your best bet. It will keep for several years in this fashion. Do not store it in your garage if it gets too hot, humid, or cold, and do allow it to freeze.

Other products that are being discontinued but are still available are:

    M9616 Medallion Leather Care
    M9716 Medallion Paint Cleaner
    M9816 Medallion Paint Protection
    A1016 Clear Coat Body Scrub

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions or would like to place an order.

    Regards
    Jose Torres

I ordered a couple cans through Autogeek, plus the next time I am in Dallas, I'm going to hit up my Meguiars distributor for a few more.

I hate to see #16 go. It is a terrific looking and very durable wax.

I know that this issue has been talked to death but I am still a little confused. I know that the reason that it was continued and what we have been told so far is that it did not meet the new VOC regulations. What exactly made this a non-compliant product? It seems that in reality it has a relitively small effect it has on the environment (compared to the amount of highway and city traffic) through use. The only thing I can think of is that there must be a problem with the way it was produced. Can anyone further enlighten me with some further explaination? Sorry again for beating a dead horse.

Yes, sorry... been kind of busy today, meant to answer this then it slipped way. I actually answered this in the thread on this topic here on page 4 of the thread...

          Discontinued Products Announcement

There are a lot of different factors and criteria used to make decisions for which products would be discontinued, not just V.O.C. regulations.

Thanks Mike, I guess a search would have done some good, it probably boils down to a lack of demand for #16 and a move of the company to more popular formulations ie NXT and #26. The spike in demand after it's demise is rather irrelevent i guess, had it always been in such demand I guess Meguiar's would have given more thought in reformulating it. Also, there has been talk that it will still be offered in Europe, does this have any truth in it?

I do not have that information at this time.

              Sorry...

I'm sorry to see this "classic" go away. I also stocked up on the Autogeek special. I now have three cans of #16 in my arsenal, so I am set for life!

Just out of curiousity, I checked Meguiar's UK site and there is no listing for #16. Has it been discontinued there also?

Yesterday I read threads here about 16 being discontinued. Also how many hate to see it go away because of its durability and shine. So this morning I bought a can and applied it to the silver DeVille. It applies easy but is alot of work to get off by hand. Yet I think its well worth the effort. The shine is magnificent and gives me very clear, crisp reflections of every object around the car. I dig the 16. There are 3 more cans left at my local Auto Supply Dealer and I am going back to buy all three later today. Old 16 is great stuff. I want my lifetime supply.
It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to have to detail all of it.

                    M1611 Professional Paste Wax

I just purchased the M21, and plan on using it this weekend. I understand that temperature can be "toxic" to my waxes, polishes and cleaners. Can you tell me if I can store the M21, and Nxt Tech Wax can be stored in the garage? This is where I typically keep all of my car supply products.

Is it ok for me to keep them in my storage outside in the garage..
