New car application

hi guys again,

I bought my new car which is Renault Fluence and will receive it two days after.

It is the same car in the picture below and i have meguiars yellow wax and clean pads in my stock.

Do you advise first to apply proffessional application or can i use my yellow wax by hand?

Congratulations on the new car!

Yes, you can easily apply M26 High Tech Yellow Wax by hand - just be sure to apply it very thin and let it dry fully before wipe off. And even though this is a new car, make sure you wash and dry it first and then inspect it carefully for both above surface bonded contaminants and any below surface issues. More often than not a brand new car is still in need of some work to bring it up to a very high level.

1st.. Call Dealer and do not have them wash or prep it for you. Just remove stickers.

2nd... Looks nice. I always like to Wash, Clay, Cleaner/Wax, Wax a new car.

No need for anything professional, I am sure you have the right idea by now from being on here. You can do whichever steps you like yourself.

thanks guys , my previous Seat Ibiza was like new after 3 years and i have sold it very very good price thats nice to see the results of efforts.

For my new Fluence I will wash/clay/wax with M26 but why should i use cleaner wax ?claying isnt enough?

Clay removes the bonded on surface grime, while a paint cleaner removes dirt from the pores/imperfections.

If it has bonded on grime, it may have dirt in the imperfections, is how I look at it.

Murr and Stoops nailed it. In my opinion I feel the same. NO need for dealer prep, make sure sticker is removed or never installed.

A good swirl free approach to washing and claying followed up with 3-5 Water Magnets and start with the protection layer. Let cure and follow with Ult Quick Wax for that perfect hydrophobic layer.

Since i got the car its been a week.
This saturday i have the following and will apply as here;
keys of my friends garage
Turtle wax zip wax car wash(i have in stock)
Meguiars M26 yellow wax, (1 year old from stock)
Meg yellow foam pad ,(by hand)
Microfiber 3M cloth for wipe process.
Automix tyre shine liquid
and sure will send the before and after pictures soon.

Hi Mates ,

I applied meg M26 at least 1,5 years old and when i opened the plastic jar cover (i put it myself not the original ) i have seen that it was wet and i guess it is sweltered .

I applied it that way and i wonder if it is not OK to apply it that way.I am not sure about the results i see.

Also there is a bird etching spot on the left door and i will check the forum about that i do not know what to do right now.

So the next step will be as below;

1.Purchase; M26 ,UQD,UQW
2.Apply M26 again after 10 days.

Also i wonder if there is some other product instead M26 to choose NXT 2 or Gold class by hand?

My preferance is to apply 1 layer M26 or NXT or Gold Class after to keep it with UQW.

Hard to say. If you could shake it, mix it back up, and it seemed ok applying, left a thin layer to remove... should be ok.

You would need a paint cleaner of some strength. SwirlX, ScractchX, Ult. Compound are all options. Depends how bad things are, what other products you are buying.

If wanting to stay cheaper, and you have QD for claying, bird droppign removal, and UQW for after washing, UQD is a bit more optional.

And then whichever paint cleaner you may want/need.

My preferance is to apply 1 layer M26 or NXT or Gold Class after to keep it with UQW.

Sure, if waxing often, you can do 1 coat.

Also UQD or QD detailer products remove the M26?

Well, generally speaking 15 minutes is nice in between coats of wax. 12 hours for best looks.

The QD products are designed to remove as little wax as possible.

Hi guys i bought UQD and applying every 3 days as the colour seems dusty but the product is so nice for cleaning purpose.

Also 1 question do you think Nxt 2.0 would be better then M26 for this new dark colour car?

'Better ' is up to you... Nxt 2.0 might be more durable.

I recommend a California duster to remove the dust.
My belief is the duster can reduce the frequency of car wash. Less car wash means that the wax will stay on your car longer.

I myself use both UQD and the duster to remove dust between washes and UQW after wash.
