Pictures from June 11th, 2011 - SRTforums.com Detailing 101A bit of a small group over the weekend, but enthusiastic nonetheless. We started with our usual classroom instruction and then moved out to the garage to put that new knowledge to the test.A dark car with healthy paint but a lot of swirls is the best demo vehicle, and if it has a large hood so the attendees can practice with the G110v2, all the better. In this case, a dark blue Chrysler 300C fit the bill.Swirls, scratches, water spots. The surface felt rough upon initial inspection, so we grabbed some clay and got to work.We then moved onto demonstrating defect removal by hand using Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Liquid Wax. Apparently some find this process pretty exciting!Someone's proud of his Meguiar's pin!Following the hand application demo we move onto defect removal with the G110v2 and the same three Ultimate products.Keep that pad clean! Our process involves taping off a section of paint, then working the three products with the correct pads and proper technique, then pulling off the tape to reveal (hopefully!) a dramatic before and after comparison. Like this. After the demos, anyone who wants to give the tool a try can do so, and this weekend they lined up to do so!
