Look what rolled into our garage today....Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Detail

This is just a teaser to start the thread - time doesn't permit us to put up more than this right now, but if you've been following us on Twitter today you'll know all about this.

We'll get more, many more, images up tomorrow. (scratch that, we couldn't wait - scroll down for the full write up!)

Looks like the Bugatti Veyron Supersport that Todd Helm detailed.

Mmmm nice - can't wait to see some more professional "after" shots of it...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: Look what rolled into our garage today....

We didn't want to wait until tomorrow.

This is indeed the very same Bugatti Veyron Super Sport that Todd worked on in Florida recently. After we hooked Bugatti USA up with Todd on the East Coast, the car is now here on the West Coast and will be on display during the Barrett-Jackson Gala Dinner Party tomorrow night, then it's up to Beverly Hills on Friday night for a potential customer to check out, and then to beautiful downtown Burbank (hint, hint) for another look see.

For today, Bugatti wanted the car freshened up, so we called in Derek Bemiss of DetailWerks and his man Brandon Davis to come by, along with Jesse Teran (aka Hemin8r) as well as our own Ash Erickson and yours truly to tidy things up a bit. Motor Trend Magazine was on hand to document things and will be doing a web article on the project soon. In fact, Christian Seabaugh from Motor Trend commented that he thought the car looked pretty darn good when it got here and was wondering just what we could do to improve it.

              So here's what we did:

Body was washed with de-ionized water and Super Soap
Tires, wheels, wheel wells cleaned with APC at 10:1 dilution
Interior wiped down with Quik Interior Detailer, leather dressed with Gold Class Leather Conditioner and weather seals treated with M40
Tires and wheel wells dressed with M40
DA Microfiber Correction System used to polish clear coat:
              • DMC5 and D300 for initial correction
              • DMF5 and D301 to finish
              • Ultimate Quik Wax as a final "pop"

Glass cleaned with Detailer Line Glass Cleaner Concentrate

Upon arrival we evaluated it thoroughly, noticing that since Todd's most excellent work was done a while back it was in need of a tiny bit of freshening up. As that image in our first post here shows, the car was not trailered in - it was driven. On public roads. With traffic.

It didn't look too bad, but it was a bit dirty.

So we took it back outside and gave it a nice de-ionized water and Super Soap bath.

Jesse uses a little APC at 10:1 to clean the tires, wheels and wheel wells.

A combination of Water Magnets and compressed was used to dry the car.

The interior appeared only lightly used - a bit dusty, some loose dirt in the carpets, just a but duller than befits a $3,000,000 hypercar.

Derek does an initial test spot using the DA Microfiber Correction System - here with a DMC5 cutting disc and D300 compound.

We also tested with some M105 but found equal defect removal so we stuck with D300 partly because it was easier to use, but also because it actually left a bit nicer finish on this clear coat.

We taped off the aluminum trim that ran around the body, and also the edge of the clear bra, before getting to work.

This shot doesn't show it, but we ultimately taped off the edges of the hood since it sits up from the rest of the body work. In fact, it almost looks as though it's been popped open, even when fully closed.

It was definitely a group effort all around.

Jesse did an outstanding job on the interior, making use of QID and our new Gold Class Leather Conditioner (no need for the new Gold Class Leather Cleaner on this car today!)

You can't detail a multi million dollar hyper car without cleaning up the key a little too. Some Hot Rims Aluminum Polish on the trim, and a touch of Gold Class Leather Conditioner on the leather.

(kicking myself for not getting a good "before" shot showing the dullness of the aluminum and the dull, dry look of the leather)

Derek gives a final wipe down while making sure nothing was left behind in any crevices.

Clean wheels are happy wheels. And when they cost as much as these do (roughly $40,000 for a set of tires and another $40,000 for a set of wheels) you want to make sure they're happy!

Look at the shine on this baby!

              Spotless.

              Gorgeous.

              Stunning.

And then it gets pulled out into the bright sunshine and the blue carbon fiber just explodes!

Carbon fiber detail on the front fender.

              Some direct sunlight shots.

The detail team, from L to R: Me, John Hill of Bugatti USA, Ash Erickson, Derek Bemiss, Brandon Davis, Jesse Teran.

John Hill was thrilled with the outcome and even stood back after opening the door saying it looked too nice to get in it! He walked around the car just smiling, nodding his head, and commented on how great the car looked. Christian from Motor Trend said he couldn't believe we actually made the car look better, since it looked so good when it arrived.

John then entertained us with stories of the technology of the car - 16 cylinders, 4 turbos, 10 radiators, 1200HP, 1100lb-ft, 268mph top speed - and that's not even the crazy stuff. How about this: the option box you check off to get this full carbon fiber body costs a cool........ are you sitting down?..... $400,000. Yep, this car has a single line-item option that costs as much as a brand new Rolls Royce Phantom. Or a nice house.

On that bombshell, we'll leave you with a few random shots of the car.

It was definitely a BLAST to say the least to even see this beauty of a car in person. I greatly enjoyed working with the team.

                    Here's Mike inspecting the paint

Derek begins with rinsing the car down

                    Washing the car down

Mike and Derek starting off the polishing on the rear wing

Derek ready to condinue using D300 with the 5" MF cutting pad

The initial wipe down using Quick Interior Detailer cleaner

Brandon carefully vacuuming while I continue to wipedown the interior with Quick Interior Detailer cleaner

Derek working the paint to perfection

                    Ash wiping the car down

Not sure what was going on here

                    All done

I'll try and get some more pics posted soon.

                      Simply Amazing!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                      Remove swirls my friends.
