    Pads softer after wash ??

    i wash my megs pads by let them sit in a bucket of detergent water then after wring them out good and put them in a bucket of clean water then wring em and throw them in the dryer on medium but today i bought a brand new polishing pad and i felt it and my washed polishing pad witch ive only used about 4 times and the new one feels stiff while the used one feels softer than the new 1 is this normal after washing or have i lost cutting power from the pads ?

    i dont use fabric softener
