  • Applicator Pads

When I ordered the DA polisher, I ordered the yellow pad (more aggressive) for the Ultimate compound and the black pads for the polish and wax. I have to do several sections by hand but I only see the yellow foam applicator pad but no black ones. I'm assuming I can use a yellow pad polish and one for wax?

All the hand foam pads are the same.

The hand pads do not match up with the machine pads.

We assume you're asking about whether there is a correlation between the yellow hand applicators and the yellow and black pads that are used on the DA? If so, then the answer is "no, not really". You're right that you will use the yellow W8207 yellow polishing pads on the DA for applying Ultimate Compound and other paint cleaners, then the W9207 black finishing pads for polishes and waxes/sealant. But when working by hand you generally use the same type of pad, the yellow hand pads, for everything. Of course you use a fresh pad for each product, but essentially the same pad.

You can, however, use the S3HP with the Soft Buff 4" pads in which case you have the option of different pads, same as with the DA.
