We have a subscription to a CD rental service, and often the CDs arrive in a condition that prevents viewing the complete movie. I usually just give it a quick polish with a MF cloth, and if that doesn't do the trick, send it back with a note.
One time we got a very bad CD and I decided that since it was already pretty trashed, I'd try Meguiar's. So I first tried PlastX, which showed noticeable visual improvement, and got us back in the game. Soon the CD failed again, however. So back out to the garage and ScratchX 2.0, followed by wiping with PlastX. That did the trick. Both polishing trips were only a few minutes, applied by hand with a MF cloth, hardly an annoyance, and much less annoying than sending the CD back to watch another day.
Since that fist time, I always reach for Meguiar's when a CD needs touch up ;-)
