  • "Wet Clay"

    What you need:
1 Clay Bar of preferance AutoMagic, Meguiars, Mothers, Whatever you like....
    1 Sprayer
    Simple Green
00 Meguiars Hi Tech Wash (Prefered due to Lubricity) or Car wash suds of preference

I **** with Exact Measurements but here goes:
Fill bottom of sprayer with simple green so just about 1/8th of normal sprayer
    Add 4-6 Caps of Wash
    Fill with Water
    Shake

The solution acts as a nice degreaser and wax remover but does not strip the finish (obviously).

We all know how to color sand so the process is not any different just with clay. Make sure the clay is like a brick use your palm and work in one direction with firm pressure. The solution should cover the surface heavily while claying, squeege off excess solution when complete with the clay. Wipe with microfiber cloth or carefully with a folded terry cloth towel (make sure edges of terry cloth are not touching surface of paint). I have found this method far more effective than traditonal clay methods that are taught. Final inspection (detailer lube consumer stuff) can get costly if used with clay, and just does not remove all the defects possible. With wet clay your able to safely "pull" all surface defects and remove all old wax and polish. More importantly, you do not introduce any new scratches or cobwebs. Since this solution does not have "shine" components like final inspection does (consumer quick detailer or lube..), you can get a true gauge of the condition of the finish. It helps to allow for a very accurate assesment of what condition the paint is in. Oh and the clay lasts longer.
