My car has bad sand paper damage, is there any way to fix this without resulting to more sand paper? I tried using a lot ultimate compound on it, but it doesn't really help now on this situation

After using UC, UP, and UW... I'm not happy with smooth as glass.

Yeah I just got pictures and it's 300, I didn't rub it in too hard, but it's near impossible to get rid of with ultimate compound. Sorry for the horrible quality, it was taken from my phone, but yeah. Anyways it looks much worse in real life (to me anyways). Also these pictures are after I've tried to remove them with ultimate compound. I'm just rubbing on it right now with more ultimate compound, but I'm giving up hope

You mean 300 grit? That's not a typo and you meant 3000 grit?

300 grit is incredibly aggressive, leaving very deep sanding marks that you are not going to be able to remove using UC by hand. You'd be hard pressed to remove something that coarse with M105 on a rotary, even if you didn't sand very aggressively.

If you're going to be working strictly by hand, you're going to need to refine your existing sanding marks down to something like 2500 to 3000 grit, but you'll have to work progressively from where you're at now. Probably 800, 1500 then your finishing papers. But you never want to sand with just your bare hands - you must have a backing pad or you run the risk of (ie, you will get) sanding low spots at the pressure points of your fingers.

We're hesitant to suggest anyone just taking on this task as it tends to involve pretty advanced processes, and most people don't consider what's needed to remove their sanding marks once that step is done. The preferred method for removing sanding marks, even something as fine as 2500 or finer, is with a rotary buffer. Yes, it can be done by hand, but depending on how hard the paint is that task could range from easy to darn near impossible.

I've decided to just let it go for now. You can't really notice in daylight thanks to the Ultimate Compound. I'll just take it to the body shop whenever I get the money to do that, someday. But for now I'll just slap on some wax and leave it alone.

          Thanks for your inputs
