Do you have any MSRP information for the pad washer? Will it be the same as the GG one?2011 Car Crazy Showcase SEMA Team

Re: Meguiar's Pad Washer
$135 is pretty steep, I find soaking my pads in a 5 gallon pail (warm water)with just an oz of Micro Restore Microfiber detergent results in very clean buffing pads, not just all my MF cloths or foam applicators."STRIFE" aka Phil

Re: Meguiar's Pad Washer
One of the advantages of the pad washer is being able to spin dry and squeegee your foam pad making it almost dry and ready to use in a couple of minutes. It also makes cleaning the foam pads a breeze. Just attach the foam pad to your DA, turn it on and start pumping.
IMO, the price is well worth it. It will make you buy less foam pads and will make them last longer too.2011 Car Crazy Showcase SEMA Team

Re: Meguiar's Pad Washer
That was an incredible price on a fantastic tool! Did you buy one?????
We think the rest of you are sort of missing the point of this tool. It's not intended to be a replacement for your washing machine, but rather a highly effective tool for cleaning on the fly. You can do an outstanding job of decontaminating a pad while buffing out a car, whether using a DA or rotary, whether using wool, foam or microfiber pads. Until you use one, you may not appreciate just how awesome they are.
Here's just one example: several months ago I had to buff out a car that presented very frustrating paint. I ended up doing several test areas with a variety of products and found myself running a bit low on pads as several become contaminated with products that were not really the best for this project. I could do a very thorough cleaning of those pads at this remote site and once again have a few usable pads for the project. As a pad would become a bit more loaded than I really liked, I'd give it a very thorough cleaning with the pad washer, spin it mostly dry with the rotary, then set it aside to dry completely while I used another pad. I could swap back and forth between pads this way, always having what was essentially a fresh, new pad practically all the time.
Sure, you can buy a lot of pads for the price of a pad washer. But the level of convenience it offers at a remote location, and the ability to keep you rolling in fresh, clean pads throughout a job, is huge. It's certainly not for everyone - nothing is. If you're just taking care of your own cars and are always working in your own garage, then it probably is overkill. But for those of you who do some mobile detailing, it's a great tool to have. And if you make a living at mobile detailing, it's almost a must have.Michael Stoops

I bought the Grit Guard
Your right it's great for cleaning pads on the fly nobody will argue that point.
But perfect no for ex the top rotates when you attempt to dry the pad. And it would be a great idea to put a drain at either near the bottom or at the bottom of the bucket.

Re: Meguiar's Pad Washer
I was wondering what wash solution is everyone using in the Megs pad washer? Can I use my Micro restore detergent? APC+ ? or Super Degreaser?? But then need to rinse with clean plain ole water?
Can someone please clarify. Thanks"STRIFE" aka Phil
