Well, it started out looking like a pretty quiet night, but as it turns out we got some serious work done.
We started off with a Dodge Ram truck in horrible shape - heavy swirls, deep etchings from old bird droppings and tree sap, and enough bonded contaminants that the hood felt like 80 grit sandpaper.
We used the C2100 Aggressive Professional Clay, twice in some areas (!), in order to remove all the bonded contaminants.
Nick then did a quick test spot with the DA Microfiber Correction System.
An evaluation in direct sunlight told us we were on the right track. This is after a single pass with D300/DMC5
This is the kind of reflection we got with just the D300 Correction Compound.
The plastic trim all over the Dodge was a mess, but a little Ultimate Black brought it back to looking like new.
Other little projects were in full swing while the Dodge was getting a major makeover.
This little guy landed on the roof of Andy's BMW after he wiped off an application of Ultimate Wax paste. Great opportunity for a reflection shot.
This 2001 Mercedes rolled in and, while it was in great shape overall, it was pretty loaded with swirls. We did a couple of test spots, one with the DA Microfiber Correction System and a second with Ultimate Compound/W8207 foam pad. Results were darn near equal so we opted for the UC/foam process as this was a more logical choice for the car owner to finish up with at home.
This was the condition of the trunk lid when he started....
And this is what he could achieve with UC/W8207.
