first, I love 205 did to my car, it remove all swirl and leave a flawless finish, I usually apply to my car about every 2 months to remove the light swirl, just wondering, how many micron did 205 remove the clear coat? I use it with DA machine, and a polish pad. I don't have any PTG, so I can't see clearly enough how much 205 remove the clear coat. is it safe to my paint if I used it every 2 months? also how many micron a fresh paint have?

Re: 205 aggressiveness
It's doubtful that M205 removed much more than the sharp edges of your very fine swirls, making them effectively invisible as they can no longer reflect light back at you. But we have to ask, why do you need to remove swirls, even fine ones, every couple of months? That generally tells us that something isn't quite up to spec with your washing and drying process, and maybe your maintenance routine as well. That's where the majority of swirls come from, so if you can avoid putting them in in the first place, you don't have to worry about taking them out and whether or not you're removing too much paint over time.Michael Stoops

Re: 205 aggressiveness
What kind of car do you have?
For my Civic, looking at it wrong causes marring and I have always battled swirls and light towel marks. I have just learned to live with them until my once a year total paint correction where I break out Ultimate Compound, M105 and go al the way through M205 (now Ultimate Polish) on a finishing pad.Tedrow's Detailing

Re: 205 aggressiveness
205 is pretty mild and if the defects are coming out quickly and easily, then again you're most likely just rounding off the sharp edges of those swirl marks. Still, I'd have a bit of a review of the way your driver is maintaining your vehicle so that you can cut back on the frequency of buffing out defects.Michael Stoops
