  • Swirls maxs on MV Agusta carbon fibre

I've been using gold class wax on my MV Agusta carbon fibre bike. Recently notice some swirl marks on part of the carbon fibre fairing. How could I remove the swirl marks without damaging the expensive carbon fibre.

Is there any sort of coating on this carbon fiber (clear gel coat or clear coat paint), or is it just the bare carbon in resin? If it's coated, and that's usually the case, then any of our paint cleaners should do the trick, but a clear gel coat can be quite a bit harder than a more traditional clear coat paint. We've used Ultimate Compound to great effect on all kinds of carbon fiber pieces, from the cheap stuff to the really pricey bits. Just make sure to work it fairly vigorously against the finish with a soft foam wax applicator - stay away from cotton terry cloth for this - and wipe it off before it dries. You will need to reapply your wax after use.

The carbon fibre has a thick clear coat as protection. I did a spot test with Swirl X and removed all the swirls. I did the tank and finish off with gold class wax.
