Obligatory how does this compare to Hotshine/Endurance/all other dressing products.

      Re: Tire & Trim Gel

This is sort of a resurrection of a Mirror Glaze tire and trim dressing we used to have, but it's been enhanced with some newer technology. It's not a repackaged Endurance gel but it behaves sort of like a cross between Endurance gel and the trigger spray: yes, it's a gel, but it dries totally dry to the touch like the trigger spray does. It will also stand up to water better than typical water based dressings do, and as the name implies it's designed as a single product for multiple uses, perfect for a detailer working on numerous vehicles in a week - he doesn't need a different product for tires and one for trim, both of which give a level of performance above that of typical water based dressings. This product fills that need.

Very nice to see an update of M38, I never got the opportunity to try this before it was discontinued years back so I will be looking forward to this. M40 does a great job of being an all around dressing so I will be interested to see how D163 compares.

I have been waiting patiently for the return of M38, by any name. When d163 be hitting the shelves? I do not remember M38 being this much a quart.

This should be shipping by the end of the year. As far as pricing goes, it's a combination of time and enhancements to the product that have moved the price a bit higher.

I would like to know how this product compare with Hyper dressing in terms of gloss?
which dilution of HD will produce a gloss similar to this Gel?

It doesnt last as long as Endurance when used on tires right?

                    Can this Gel be diluted?

Gloss on this is closer to M40 so it's probably closest to HD at 4:1. It may not last quite as long as Endurance but it shouldn't be too far off - you might be splitting hairs here though. Lastly, no, it is not dilutable.

I would like to know how this product compares with Gold Class Trim Detailer. I use the Gold Class product on both the plastic trim, moldings and door gaskets and the coated metal roof rack. It looks great but the only drawback is that when it rains, the stuff streaks.

                        Thank you.

D163 has been available for a little while now, is anyone here using it yet? Feedback on its performance and comparison to other products?

                              Re: Tire & Trim Gel

I took a trip to detailing.com and picked this up along with a few other goodies. I washed the car today and used D143 to remove the previous dressing prior to applying it. I was in the market for a replacement tire and trim dressing that was similar to adam's super vrt as well as economical. I have to say that the consistency is about the same and like typical meguiar's it has a nice scent to it. I used the foam tire applicator that I had from adam's and it worked great for applying a nice even layer. I tried it on some of the trim as well and it dressed it up just as good if not better than super vrt. With vrt I got about a month out of it. The benefits of living in So Cal with no rain. I will report back on the longevity of this. All in all I was pleased with the look it gives the tires and ease of application.
