  • How to remove a black stain on my leather seats... I'm scared to attempt

There's a stain on the backseat of my Town Car. The interior is really clean, especially the back seats and I want this one blemish to go away but i'm afraid to try some 'risky' removal techniques like Magic eraser. I don't know what caused it because it was there when i purchased the car, but my guess is that it was some tar/resin like compound... thought it looks more like ink.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I don't want to make anything worse....

Well, just start gentle, and work up.

    Can try a damp cloth.

Can try a damp cloth and some Dawn.

Can try a cloth and some APC.

Or can try a Meguiars leather cleaner, or cleaner/conditioner if you see it in a store there.

Our Gold Class Leather & Vinyl Cleaner is highly effective and perfectly safe - it would be out go to on this. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that no matter what product you use you can still damage the surface if you use an aggressive applicator and too much energy. For example, we've seen too many cases of people scrubbing with a terry cloth towel to the point of taking the coating and the dye right off the leather. In those cases, that would have happened if they had used plain water. Let the cleaner do its job, don't force the issue.
