  • Ultimate Wash & Wax Everywhere + GC Premium Quick Detailer

    Hi,

I am very particular about my car as most of us here are I have not had a garage or a place to formally detail my daily driver Bullitt since April of last year. Therefore, it sleeps uncovered and I had resorted to local hand car washes, with UQD and UQW afterwards when appropriate. This has been a major compromise to say the least and she is due some significant paint correction as soon as I move.

My product selection is typically easy: Meguiars first, and if I'm not completely satisfied then look somewhere else. I have from M105 and a nice DA down to what I'm reviewing today.

    Products used:
Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax Everywhere
Meguiars Gold Class Premium Quick Detailer

    Other products used:
Meguiars Gold Class Endurance Tire Gel
    Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner
Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner Conditioner
    Meguiars Natural Shine Protectant
    Mothers Wheel and Tire Cleaner
Griots Spray-on Car Wash Microfiber Cloths
    Meguiars Supreme Shine Microfiber Cloths

Before we get into the experience, I just wanted to mention that the new products come with a better spraying mechanism. I have not been a fan of the sprayer in UQW and UQD. Even though the bottle looks fancy, they don't spray evenly and the trigger typically breaks before I run out of product. The new ones don't look as nice but look much more durable and spray more evenly. Thanks Meguiars!

    UWWE

The last wash was last weekend when I tried UWWE for the first time. The car sleeps outside but it was pretty clean as the weather has been pretty good this week and the last pass of UWWE did not allow for anything to really stick to the car for the period. Applying UWWE was painless. Spray on, wipe the product and area with the Griots cloth, and complete the finish with the supreme shine cloth. I use the Griots car wash cloth as it is thicker and I feel it's better for this type of application.

I also tried the product last week on my wheels but by spraying in on a microfiber towel instead of directly on the paint. It did not that well with that application. I strongly recommend sticking to body paint and doing your wheels with something else. Since I cannot use a hose where I live, I actually used the red bottled product, agitated with a brush and sponge, and rinsed with one of those $10 Flo-Masters sprayers from Home Depot that I had in storage. It took longer to rinse but it worked well!

It is not a normal wash but, ultimately, what is. It clearly exceeded my expectations as s stop-gap product. Extremely easy to use, very good finish, and no streaking. After two applications, I still half a bottle remaining. I will, without hesitation, continue to use this every week as my normal wash until I move to my next place in two months where I will have a garage and will be able to do full detailing again. This is the product I had been waiting for a long time.

    GCPQD

I let the car sit overnight before applying GCPQD just so the car could collect some dust. I figured it would make a better test. As expected, the car had some dust and in 5 minutes I applied the new QD to the whole car. The results speak for themselves. Please see below. Very clean to the touch.

I still prefer UQD for durability but GCPQD makes the car look so much better. In order of preference, just for looks: GCPQD, UQD, M21

Remember that this car has had 0 paint correction and has slept outside for 10 months in South Florida and its paint has been maintained with nothing but Meguiars Ultimate spray products after a "regular guy", 20 cars a day hand car wash. My car is always the first though

Awesome! Thanks for the review! I'm excited to try this.

I have access to a hose, so I'll just be using this as an "Amped-up" QD.

Good heads up on the use on wheels, by the way.

Thanks for taking the time to put this write up together and sharing your experiences with the community. Your Bullitt Mustang sure doesn't look like it sits outside at all!

A correction is in order. I meant M135 instead of M21

I used three to wipe and only one to polish but the car was not that dirty. I used six or seven last week.

Glad to be able to put in my .02. I've been lurking here for years and have learned so much from you and others from the community. I am the one who is thankful for what you guys are doing here. And thanks for the complement. I do work hard at maintaining the finish with limited but extremely good tools and products until the Bullitt can get back in the shade!

            Nice review and great work!

Just a quick correction on the name: Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere (UWWA)

Thanks! Will have to fire the editors after just one review any chance for the mods to correct?

You know, with all the different ways we've seen "Meguiar's" spelled (and pronounced) we're OK with letting this small error go in this product's name. No worries.
