I anxiously awaited a car supply order that included several of Meguiar's new 2012 products. It arrived over the weekend and yesterday I went to work! Honestly, Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere truly deserves its own review.
This is a phenomenal product. In my opinion, if you want the best, this product nearly eliminates the need of a quick detailer, with the exception of one question I have at the end.
Firstly, the bottle size is nice, a couple ounces more than Ultimate Quick Detailer. The smell is fantastic, and this truly helps you get through your cleaning work, it's the same smell as the Wash & Wax car wash. I opened up a few new packages of Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels (these are finally back to being nice and thick again, thanks Meguiar's).
I then followed my same Quick Detailing routine. Truly, my cars have only had a handful of traditional washes. The reason being is relatively light dust or loose dirt is about all I allow to get on them. I do not go out in the rain, etc. Therefore, I'm never removing mud for example. However, if the car gets caught out in a wind storm, it can be pretty covered in dust/dirt! In such a case, I drive the car a couple minutes to get some of the light dust off, and then use a quick detailer (Ultimate Quick Detailer almost exclusively).
You know the regimen, wet one towel with product, wet the panel, wipe with the wet towel, and then buff dry with the dry one. Depending on contamination, I may need 1-2 more towels during the process.
Well, this made me a great candidate for Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere.
This product is a leap in car care. I did not hold back on using the product. After two cars, I have maybe 1/5 of a bottle remaining. This does not bother me. After all, how much does a wash cost? The product does seem to go a long way because of the lubricity, if you were careful with it, but I go on safe side and use as much as I want. Lubricity is a key feature of the product. When you use it, you feel the lubricity. You feel how easily the towel moves across the surface and how it's cleaning, but at the same time, moving so easily. It feels awesome to use! Hard to describe, but very different!
Next, when you go to wipe it dry, more magic occurs. The finish left behind is striking. I consider it, AT LEAST as good looking as Ultimate Quick Wax (my opinion is actually much better looking than UQW), and the feel of the paint, oh the feel of the paint! The slickness is unlike anything I have felt on these vehicles previously. I do have Souveran as my wax on both cars right now, and using Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere to clean up on top of that, leaves the paint oh so very slick indeed! A multitude of times slicker than either a quick detailer or quick wax would leave the finish.
Overall, I will probably always keep a little Ultimate Quick Detailer around when I have the lightest, almost hard to see dust on the car. However, if it is anything beyond that or you just want the best, why not choose Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere? If you are going to the work of quick detailing, why not leave behind this great protection and slickness too? It seems like a no brainer to me. A couple bucks more and you get great protection and slickness each time you quick detail! Plus, it surely provides much more insurance against marking up your paint as you can feel the extremely high lubricity. It's a pleasure to use, and the finish it leaves, honestly looks fantastic. I am surprised this product is not several times more expensive than what they offering it at right now (fingers crossed they don't raise it). After all, it's not THAT much more than Ultimate Quick Detailer, and the finish it leaves is well worth it!
This is a big deal. I put Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere up there with clay, quick detailer, foam pad, and the microfiber system as things that changed car care.
Thanks Meguiar's! I hope UWWA will never loose its fantastic properties! Please never dilute it!
My only hesitation/question on using UWWA regularly instead of Ultimate Quick Detailer: Is there risk/belief that UWWA is removing more of our primary wax than a product like Ultimate Quick Detailer would remove? I suppose there isn't much concern here as the feel of the paint "seems" better protected afterwards so even if it removed some, who cares I suppose. However, should UWWA not necessarily remove much more fresh wax (a few days old) compared to Ultimate Quick Detailer?
