A couple of questions


1)What is the best way to dry a car? Currently I am using the Absorber. I'm pretty satisfied with the drying results , but after learning more about detailing I want to dry with Microfiber or a waffle weave towel. I accumulated most of my towels from the Ultimate liquid Wax and Claybar kits. IS a thicker microfiber towel better for waxing and drying?



What should I look for in a good Microfiber or Waffle weave towel?
Just need advice...

I've always used the red and yellow microfibre combination with the Ultimate Quick Wax myself, but I've just the last couple of days restocked some detailer sprays etc, so have bought a synthetic chamois and water magnet towel to try.

I also dry up to 4 cars a day sometimes. Parents cars and my cars.

Waffle Weave is for drying, the plush kind for product removal.

Though I will do UQW while drying with the waffle weave.

The main thing is flowing most of the water off with the hose so as little is left as possible. (easier with a good wax coat remaining) Then just whipe your towel across gently, no pressure.

Your typical microfiber polishing towels are generally pretty poor at absorbing any quantity of water, which is what you need to be able to do when drying a car. A waffle weave microfiber towel, like our Water Magnet, is designed to be highly water absorbent and as such they do a great job at just that. We recommend washing and drying our Water Magnet prior to first use, and then wash and dry following every use thereafter. It's also a good idea to flood the water off the car before drying. This is done by taking the nozzle off the hose, turning the water pressure down about half way and then letting that smooth, steady stream of water run over the paint. This will, on a well waxed car, sheet off the vast majority of the water beads on the surface. Doing this makes drying faster and easier with less touching of the paint. Less touching of the paint means less chance of inflicting any sort of fine scratch or towel mark in the surface.

Well, as I previously said, my usual method in the past has been to remove as much water as possible with flooding and then a couple of microfibres, and then follow up with UQW to dry my cars. Today I tested both the synthetic chamois and the water magnet, and OMG did the water magnet do a fantastic job. The car was actually dry before I started using the spray wax.

This will save me money in the long run, as I have found just using microfibres alone I tend to still get a lot of water spots around my boot and roof. Now I'll be able to skip spray wax on my daily driver, and just use it on the HSV..
