  • PlastX on your cell phone??

I have a cell phone which has a clear plastic flip part, which has a touch screen built in, so weather the phone is flipped open or closed, you can use it, for certain functions. anyways I was wondering since it's plastic, would it be safe to use some plastX on it? It has some light scratches i'd like to try and buff out.

I wouldn't try it. Not only could you damage your cell phone form having to apply excessive force, but the modern touch screens (last 3 years or so) are not plastic anymore. They use various types of glass, such as gorilla glass. If your cell phone has one of these glasses, it will be hard to buff out the scratches, and you may risk damaging the phone in the process.

If it really is plastic then PlastX should be just the ticket for it. But you need to be very selective with your applicator so as not to create any new scratches in the surface, so stay clear of terry cloth or even microfiber. Start out easy with a foam wax applicator pad and work up from there with regard to applied pressure. It's doubtful that your touch screen is Gorilla Glass as that stuff is darn near impossible to scratch. I've got a Droid Bionic with a Gorilla Glass screen and I've never used a cover on it. I carry it in my back pocket, I toss it onto my desk or the counter in our training garage, I've dropped it a few times, and generally beat on the darn thing. A little wipe down every now and then with some UQD and a clean microfiber towel and it's perfect. Amazing surface, that Gorilla Glass!

I have a Motorola Krave ZN4, Not exactly the most modern phone, but I like it. The flip is a clear plastic pice with some...thing in it so you can use some of the functions without fliping it open. Lucky for me I just bought some paste Cleaner wax so I have my first ever foam applicator pad. I will try to see what I can do with it. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't know... Unfortunately, my phone has a "durable" glass screen.

Just be careful eh! you don't wanna get polish/cleaner in the small gap (if there is any ) that goes around the screen. The cleaner wax will dry in there and be hard to remove.
