I just (Sunday) painted my engine bay with nason full thane black single stage and 3 coats of 497-00 urethane clear over the top. I wet sanded with 1200, 2000, & 3000 and I want to hand buff the finish, as I'm a little nervous about machining with all the contours involved. I tried hand rubbing some M02 in an inconspicuous area, and it is putting scratches in the surface. Any help as to what products to use would be helpful.
Also does anyone have experience machine buffing an engine compartment? What did/do you use? I own an old Milwaukee buffer, and should probably upgrade to something lighter, and smaller. DA?
