What a great, great group we had this past Saturday - enthusiastic, eager to learn, plenty of great questions. A great way to spend a Saturday!
Jay brought in his 2005 Dodge Magnum that he tells us hasn't had anything done to it 3 years - barely washed, even! No bit shock, then, that the paint was in less than stellar shape!
We were a bit surprised, however, that the level of bonded contaminants wasn't higher than this.
But, the car definitely needed to be clayed and so we clayed.
We then did our usual process of taping off a couple of test areas on the hood, then proceeded to demo Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax both by hand and with the G110v2 buffer.
W8207 pad means Ultimate Compound.
W9207 pad.. could be Ultimate Polish or Ultimate Wax in this shot. Perhaps we should double check with Court's notes!
The results of our initial test spot - buffer on the right, by hand on the left.
We then let the students try their hand at the G110v2 buffer.
Pad flat against the paint, good pressure...... looks like a great start to a buffing career!
We're always ready to give some true "hands on" instruction - make sure the pad is flat, the pressure is good, and movements are slow and steady.
Remember this "before" appearance that was present all over the car?
Well, this is the same spot "after". And this was done by folks who had never used a buffer before!
