Hot Rims All Wheel & Tire cleaner just stained my expensive wheels

I recently used Meguiars Hot Rims All wheel & Tire cleaner on my Volk GTS wheels. Sprayed it on, left to dwell for 15 seconds and rinsed off. Now my wheel is stained on the clear coat of the lip and will not come off no matter what I use. The bottle indicates "Safe on ALL clear coated wheels". My wheels have a polished clear coated lip and it has seriously stained them. I've seriously tried everything to get it off, using:

Mother wheel polish
Clay bar
ScratchX

It wasn't taking it off at all so I even tried on a small area:
Diluted Simple Green
409 all purpose cleaner
clorox bleach cleaner
Googone

Still stained! It looks as if someone spit on my rims and it's stained. I can't believe a wheel cleaner would do this, it's suppose to clean wheels not stain them. I've used tons of wheels cleaners and I decided to try Meguiars and this happens, I can't believe it.

Hopefully I get some feedback how to get rid of this stain.

Yeah all Volk Racing 2-piece wheel's have polished clear coated lips. I had to repair a the edge of one of the lips before and the guy polished through the clear coat and had to re-clear it.

I have never seen Hot Rims stain painted wheels before. Did it happen to all the wheels or is this the wheel that was re-cleared? I would think some of the things you used after could have made it worse. I would first wash them with a pH neutral cleaner and then I would try some sort of paint cleaner like ScratchX and see what that does for you.

This happened on 2 wheels, neither of the 2 was the repaired one. luckily I didn't continue on the rest of my wheels. I've tried just about everything, the cleaning products I tried on just a small area to see if it would have any effect on the stain and it didn't. That just tells me how stained they are.

Please don't tell me I have to take this to a shop to get re-polished and clear coated because I used this product, this just ruined my day. These wheels were a grip to buy.

Looking through the list of products you've tried, we're curious what your applicator looked like after using ScratchX 2.0?

Have to say we just chatted with the guys at vividracing.com, a large seller of Volk Wheels, and they tell us that the lips on this wheel, the Volk GTS, are anodized and not clear coat painted. This is regardless of color choice as the wheel comes in 5 different lip colors. The spokes are obviously painted and cleared which is why they didn't experience any damage here.

But again, please give a call to our Customer Care Center so that they can document this in our system.
