  • Want to use DA MF but have questions

So I’ve been out of the loop for awhile. Now I come back and see that people like Mike Phillips have moved on and new products introduced. I’m really interested in the new DA MF system of pads and compounds.

I see that there is now a bunch of backing plates specifically for the DA (3 to be exact). I’m a little confused as to the compatibility (and effectiveness) of the different backing plates with the different pads. I know it’s a system and to get the best results you should use what works best together.

I currently own a Meguiar’s G110 (ver. 1) with backing plate W67DA and have pads W8006 and W9006 which I’ve used with compounds like M09, M82 and M83 with limited success.

Can I use my existing W67DA backing plate w/ pads DMC5 and DMF5 or do I really need to get the new S6BP and pads DMC6 and DMF6 to use with D300 and D301 for best results? What’s the difference between BPs W67DA and S6BP (besides size)?

Also, I’ve lurked around a bit on here and I see a lot of folks refer to ultimate compound (UC). Is this D300 or something else?

    TIA

If you own a Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher whether the G100, G110, or G110v2 or any other traditional D/A you will want to use the 5 Inch Discs with the W67DA Backing Plate. More detailed information on this system can be located in the following below threads:
