  • Compound expiry date ?

I had a stock of #84 for around 1 year now, along with the rest of polishes/compounds from the #8x series

I noticed that by the time #84 has completely lost its density, and became very liquid (more like #80)
The problem didnt occur with #85 (although I bought it with #84 at the same time), and it has occurred with all my #84 stock, not only 1 gallon

I checked the product packaging, and nothing is mentioned about the product production or expiry dates

    Any clues ?

well I know you can use products for years. like 50 years later.
Now I don't know if that applies to your particular bottle. sometimes formulas will vary slightly and your bottle might not be any good for various reasons. but don't throw it away. if it still works then keep it if it doesn't then toss it. you can call megs directly too

Generally speaking, our product shelf life is in the range of 3 to 5 years unless they've been exposed to temperature extremes. A single freeze/thaw cycle can ruin a product, but heat tends to take a bit longer. Sometimes, though, a product will separate into a thicker component and a somewhat watery component. If you can shake the bottle and the product mixes together and stays that way, it's still perfectly good to use. If, on the other hand, no amount of shaking will mix it back together, it's dead.

Uniform thinning alone shouldn't be an issue, but we'd still give the bottle a good shake before using. In fact, we recommend that whenever you're going to use a bottle of any Meguiar's product, regardless of age.

Shaking the bottle was the first thing I tried, and it didnt work as the product has totally lost its denisty
I doubt it's a problem with storage or temprature, as I'm storing #84 along with the rest of the #8X series, and the problem only affected #84

So I believe it has something to do with #84 composition (problem didnt occur even with #85)
