  • 1991 Ford Mustang Coupe Makeover

My objective here is to showcase the project of restoring this ford. I am an avid ford guy and this will be mustang #10!

Here is a walk around video of how I found it:http://s1148.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8ed60627.mp4

    Damage and neglected paint:

    Paint prep:

Engine before and after some minor cleaning and mods (I know, I need wire separators desperately)

Back from paint with lots of orange peel:

    Close of nibs and peel:

Test spot with some wetsanding, a lousy palm DA, terry bonnet and Ultimate Compound:

    UPDATE 10-4-2012:
The Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction system turned my car from this

    into this:

    JUST KIDDING!!!!!!
Here are a couple pics of my current progress. This is after wet sanding by hand with 2000, damp sanding with 3000 finishing disks on G110v2. (Although I had to remove the interface pad as it began to fall apart and also I could not knock down the hand sanding marks with it in place). Then I DA'd with Microfiber Cutting disk and Microfiber Cutting compound. Have not "finished" or waxed just wiped off extra compound with terry towels. Do you see any familiar products in the reflections?

This looks like a cool project. Are you missing some photos in your last post?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
