        Wow didn't expect this!

Is it a different formulation than the M101 specifically formulated for EU?

If only customs didn't steal my M101.....

            Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound

Not only is this the exact same formula that is offered in Europe, it's even the same label. What does that mean? Well, labeling requirements are different in Europe but we knew that if we changed the label some people would think the product itself had changed, so we didn't touch a thing. There is actually an additional US regulatory bit that needs to be included in the label for products sold in the US, but rather than change the label to accommodate that requirement we're just adding an additional sticker to the back of the bottle. In fact, when a batch of M101 is produced and bottled, part of that line of bottles turns one way to get the additional US label affixed to it and the other part of the line goes straight on to skip the label. So even a single batch of M101 will be distributed worldwide - we haven't changed a thing with this formulation. Now, keep in mind that this product was specifically developed for use on European aftermarket paint (ie, the paint used in body shops in Europe) and for the typical body shop workflow used in Europe. That means foam pads (smaller than typically used here in the US) and a rotary buffer (moving at a slower speed than typical here in the US). But since many high end detailers took it upon themselves to source this product and have it shipped to them domestically and then fell in love with it, even when used on a DA with microfiber pads, we relented and decided to offer it for sale in the US.Interesting story about the development of M101 - Jason Rose, our Pro Products Development guru, traveled to Europe with one of our chemists and a makeshift mobile lab to create this product. This made more sense than tweaking the product, sending to Europe for evaluation, tweaking again based on feedback, resending and waiting for feedback again, over and over. With our guys on the ground in Europe and able to respond immediately, and actually participate in the testing, we were able to fine tune the product much faster, and know for sure that we had a winner. We just didn't really expect so many people here to actually ship it back to the US (it is produced domestically, just like all of our products) and then fall in love with it. Further, even with the amount of dust it can create when used with a DA, these guys were so taken by the speed and level of cut coupled with a high level of finish, that they are willing to overlook the dust because everything else is just so stellar. While we still recommend using M101 with a foam pad on a rotary, we know you guys are going to experiment and play with it in all kinds of scenarios, so have at it. Just remember those design parameters in case you come across a situation where it's not the perfect fit!!

Dang. At almost $2 / oz this stuff must be like liquid gold for detailers. At least I won't have to import it to try now!

                Tell me about it.

I paid $80 for my 32oz bottle. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay shipping on it.

This stuff is absolutely amazing though!
