    Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound

    I've created M310.

    I mix a little M105 with a little M205.
Longer work time & much less splatter.

      Wouldn't that be M155?

        My math M105 + M205 = M310 (TaDa)

Sorry for going off topic. Yes, I'm looking forward to trying M101

I think what aerogt01 meant was:

          You use 50% M105 plus 50% M205, so:

          (105/2) + (205/2) = M155.

That's assuming you use 50% of each though...

          (Yes, off topic sorry...)

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

            Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound

Looks like M101 hit Detailing.com sometime this weekend or today. Mike are you guys going to offer different sizes? I wouldn;t know what to do with all that M101.

Edit: M101 did not hit, it was posted up for pre-ordering. But my size question still stands. I got a M105 in a small black container, that size in M101 would be lovely.

                  Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound

We are offering M101 here in the US in just the quart size. No gallons, no 8 or 16 oz, sorry.

As for using M101 on a DA, well....................

It was designed very specifically for the European aftermarket paint business (ie - collision repair). The paint used in Euro body shops is very different from that used in US body shops, and the buffing workflow is also very different. Where we tend to use wool pads and sand/buff entire panels, they use smaller foam pads and tend to just do spot repair. So we developed this product specifically for those paints and that workflow.

And then some guys here in the US got a hold of it and started using it with the DA microfiber system and immediately began begging us to release it domestically. These guys, including some of the most elite detailers in the country, couldn't get enough of it and used it with wool pads, foam pads, rotary buffers, DA buffers, microfiber pads, fresh paint, new factory paint, beat up older paint - you name it, they tried it. And they loved it. So we gave in and decided to offer it up domestically, but only in quart size.

So, back to the question about using it on a DA. We may not have designed it for that application, but plenty of people will tell you that it is outstanding in that application. We will tell you, however, that it will create a fair amount of dust this way, especially if you over use it. If you absolutely HATE dust when buffing, M101 may not be for you. But we heard so many people tell us that they're happy to put up with the dust because of how fast it cuts and how nice a finish it leaves. It's a trade off they're more than willing to live with.

                    Re: M101 Foam Cut Compound

Finally got around to using M101. All I can say is WOW! I found a new love.

I'd say there was "no mess" with M101 & only a minimal amount of dusting.
In My Humble Opinion M105 vs M101 are at opposite ends of the bell curve.
They both cut great. M101 is no mess, longer work time and a sweet finish.

I believe I have found a new one-two go-to combo. When can we get Gal?

I've tried it. I'm sold! Are you planning to release gallons in the US anytime soon? I'm ready.

To my knowledge, there are no plans at the moment to offer gallons of M101 in the US. But hey, we didn't plan on selling M101 domestically at all to start with, so things can always change!

I personally think many of the online vendors would sell more if sold in 12 or 16 oz bottles, those self cleaning bottles are great.

I agree. I think Meguiars is still modeling this product as it was intended (european body shops) which could explain the 1 somewhat large size.

I wanted a smaller bottle but in the end bucked up for the big one.

If you plan to just use this on your own car as an enthusiast, you will have a 15 yr supply. Not sure if product expires but there is plenty of product in that bottle. If you were local I would offer up a bit of mine.

Also I have used this product with both foam pads and DAMF system. Strangely I found it had a better cut when used on a foam pad (yellow) than the DAMF. Not sure if anyone else noticed the same thing. Even with DAMF this stuff is pretty amazing.
