  • Unigrit Backing Plate

I have a G110V2 with the standard W68DA Velcro Backing Plate and the W67DA Velcro Backing Plate. Is it ok to use the W68DA with foam interface pad and a Uningrit sanding/ finishing disc or should I just buy the Unigrit backing plate?

    Re: Unigrit Backing Plate

If you're going to be sanding, you definitely want the 6" Unigrit backing plate and foam interface pad. Sanding is potentially so much faster cutting than any soft of polishing you could do with a DA that it really pays to use the correct tools all around. If you use the W68DA you won't get even pressure on the abrasive media, and that will lead to a lack of uniform sanding, and you want your sanding to be as uniform as possible. The W67DA plate simply isn't large enough to fully support the abrasive media either. If ever there was a time when the backing plate was absolutely critical, this is it.

The unigrit backing plate is the S6BP.
