Dry ice-blasting is a form of abrasive blasting, where dry ice, the solid form of carbon dioxide, is accelerated in a pressurized air stream and directed at a surface in order to clean it. Instead of using hard media to grind on surface which will damage it, dry ice blasting uses soft dry ice which is accelerated at supersonic speeds and creates mini-explosions on the surface to lift the undesirable item off the underlying substrate. It’s a good way to clean the things without damaging it. There are many company supplies equipment for Dry Ice blasting. I found a link where there are some suppliers who offer Dry Ice blasting equipment. You can Buy or Rent the equipment.

It's been a while since I looked into them, but the equipment itself wasn't that bad (Started at about $1000). The real expense comes from the HUGE amounts of air they need (100 CFM range). Ever priced a tow behind or underdeck PTO driven air compressor?

I don't quite understand this, wouldn't dry ice hit the surface at an extremely lower temperature? Wouldn't that be damaging to your car's plastic or leather?
