  • Things you can do with a Dyna Cone

I'm over at a friends helping him go through his '34 Chevy Victoria and fix all the problems the maker did.
So we're doing the front shocks/springs and he's like I have some blah, blah, blah polish and I'll just polish up these springs. I said wait, I have a Dyna Cone and some real metal polish.
So I broke out my Cone, drill and NXT Metal Polish and protectant.

    Here are the before Pictures.
Lot's of pitting and rust in the left one. The right one was rusted but not pitted as bad. So I started with the left one.

So into the vice they went. I appled the NXT with steel wool to help remove the rust, dirt and crud.

Shoved the Dyna Cone in and went to work.

The tip of the cone worked well getting inbetween the coils.

On the one with alot of rust, I ran the drill at full speed for abute a minute to heat it up and get the polish time to work.

Here's the results of an hours worth of work.

Here's the bad one. It came out better then I though and my friend was very impressed.

    Great work! Amazing transformation

I'm assuming those springs are exposed; i.e. it is an open-wheeler type car?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Not an open wheel, it has fenders. The builder of this car was horrible. ie: one spring was more corroded then the other. They probably took these from different cars/used parts.

Oh ok. I was just wondering why you'd go to the trouble of polishing them if you can't see them! lol

Because my friend is going through the entire car, cleaning, fixing and protecting everything. So why not polish these? They are rusting and looking bad. And I had the tools and expertise to do it.

Would there be a smaller cone or ball, that you could use to polish up something like an intake manifold?

Btw, when will the Dyna cone be avail without the cleaning and polish sample bottles?

Well that's the beauty of the DC, it fit's into things. That's what made me do this post. Working on these springs shows you the versatility of the Cone. And you can cut this up to fit into smaller spaces.

You'll need the cleaning solution. The DC is a dense foam and the metal and polish gets into it very well. The cleaner clean this spotless.

                        Thanks for the kudos DW
