  • question about the foam sprayer

I just purchased a foam sprayer and never used one before. I was wondering if it can be used durning the cold seasons or just during the warm seasons.

As long as it's not below freezing you can use it.
Let me ask you why did you buy this?
I don't get these at all. What's the piont of this? Foaming a car does nothing extra to the car.

Wait....WHAT? That's not what you said when you sold me yours!

JK. From what I've read here and elsewhere, the foaming action serves as a pre-cleaner to loosen and lift the dirt, making for a more lubricated surface and less chance of scratching when you wash with mitts and buckets.

Hum... a power washer does the same thing. and I love scratching cars. lol.
I still don't get it. Maybe I'll get one and see what all the fuss is abute.

Different people are going to like different things about it, or some might just not like it.

I like it because I can coat the entire panel in soap (lubrication) and add more right away as needed.

Always felt like the soap tended to all run off the panel all at once and not spread as much if just working from a sponge in soap bucket.

As long as it not freezing out, but I figure blasting the car with a hose is good enough?

I usually squeeze a little soapy water from my wash mitt onto the panels before i start to wash/wipe.
I also like to use all 5 gallons of wash soap.

This sound like overkill to me.
With a Spray N Wash/Waterless Wash. I just spray, wipe and buff. No mess, no fuss, no scratches, no 40 gallons of water going down the sewer into the ocean. I think people just like to play in the bubbles.
                But to each there own.

Around here during the winter you need alittle over kill. Specially when you have your own company and you are trying to keep your clients happy.

aaa, yes the nasty snow sludge. I lived in Boston for a few years. Glad I wasn't a detailer then. lol.
What about using a rinseless wash with warm water? Not to warm, you don't want any windshields breaking.

Well as one other member said that you can not use it in very cold weather but you I think there is a solutionfor that you can use the foam sprayer inside the garage in that extreme cold weather. I always do this trick and it works for me. you can also apply it. Good Luck
