Growing paint bubbles that are rock hard ???

I've got this 2008 Dodge Caravan with a very strange paint issue on the hood. The first time I detailed this vehicle and noticed it, it was just a small (smaller than a centimeter) bubbled up area of paint on the corner of the hood. At first I thought it was a repair job on the body and then painted over from the factory. But the strangest thing is happening, it's growing! It's now 4 times in size and there's another one that has popped up. I don't notice anything under the hood and these things are rock hard! Any ideas what would cause this?

Sounds like Clear Coat failure.Post some pics so we can be sure.

look like rust. chip some paint away to check.

I have seen this before, a friend waxed his new paint job and that was the resilt over time

Looks like rust bubbles. Rust is like cancer, it will just keep spreading.

pop the hood and look at the underside. more than likely, moisture got into the seam and started the rust.

Yea... it's corrosion in the seam... apparently it's an extremely common issue on these vehicles.
